Having just watched We Live In Public - celebrating 40 years of the Internet, this documentary follows the life and career of Josh Harris, probably the most amazing person to ever live. He predicted how technology, how the internet would take over our lives and presented these forms throughout the 90s and 2000s in amazing, rel life “experiments” from creating the first online tv network to a giant, month long big brother style… show? Project? Interrogation?
Basically he’s a digital artist, described as the digital Andy Warhol, this guy is my new hero. He’s not so much an artist in the sense that he creates art, he created spaces for artists to create. But he became an icon, an artist of people….
Having just watched this documentary… I’ve been feeling a bit uuuhhhmmm and aaarrhhhh about the Internet again. Part of me wants to leave it forever, part of me wants to exploit the shit out of it and part of me wants to rip it a new bum hole and take the piss beyond belief.
I have a plan for an interactive performance piece. Which is exciting in my brain haha! Research research research is needed.
I WANT TO BREAK YOUR BRAINS
